LOGISTICS NOTE


1. WORKSHOP LOCATION

The Twinning workshop will be held in Antalya, Turkey from 9 to 10 October 2018 at the following venue:

Participation in this workshop is by invitation.


2. AIRPORT TRANSFER

Participants should arrange their own airport transfer. The distance between the International Airport of Antalya and the hotel is about 15 km.
A taxi costs about 30 Euros and takes 20-30 minutes depending on traffic conditions. Taxis are available at the airport or can be reserved online:

The hotel offers airport transfer for individuals for 80 Euros (both ways) or for groups of 6 persons for 60 Euros (both ways).

3. ACCOMODATION

All-inclusive accommodation will be provided to UN Environment-funded participants at the meeting venue IC Hotel Green Palace Lara.
Self-funded or project-funded participants should book their own accommodation. Upon request, UN Environment may reserve a room at the meeting venue. The payment would be done directly to the local travel agency.
Accommodation can be booked on the hotel website or the usual Internet platforms such as www.booking.com, www.tripadvisor.com, www.expedia.com or similar.

4. DAILY SUBSISTENCE ALLOWANCE AND TERMINAL EXPENSES 

Daily subsistence allowance and terminal expenses will be provided to UN Environment-funded participants at the meeting venue.

5. MEETING SCHEDULE

Registration of meeting participants on Tuesday, 9 October 2018, starts 8:30.
Meeting sessions start 9:00 in the morning each day.

6. SIMULTANEOUS INTERPRETATION

English / Russian simultaneous interpretation will be provided during official sessions in the main meeting room. There will be no interpretation in the side meeting room which will be used for break-out sessions

7. CURRENCY

The local currency is the Turkish Lira (TRY) and the indicative exchange as of September 2018 is:
1 Euro = 7,7 Turkish Lira
1 USD = 6,7 Turkish Lira

8. VISA ARRANGEMENT, TRAVEL AND HEALTH INSURANCE

Participants are responsible to take care of visa arrangements, travel insurance and health insurance. Visa information for Turkey is available from the following websites:

All participants should check visa requirements. UN Environment can provide visa support letters upon request.

9. CLIMATE

Antalya is located at the Mediterranean Sea in the Southern part of Turkey.
In October, average daily temperature is 20 degrees Celsius. Low temperatures can dip down to 14 degrees Celsius and high temperatures swing as high as 26 degrees Celsius. The Mediterranean Sea remains warm enough to swim at 24 degrees Celsius.
The average amount of rainfall does grow slightly during October to 90 millimetres of rain which typically falls over the course of six days. The weather forecast is available from: www.weatherforecastmap.com/turkey/antalya.

10. ELECTRICITY

Turkey operates on 220 volts, 50 Hz, with round-prong European-style plugs that fit into recessed wall sockets /points.

11. WORKSHOP DOCUMENTS AND OZONACTION MEETING PORTAL

The documentation for the workshop will be distributed via the OzonAction Meeting Portal (www.ozonactionmeetings.org). This online 24/7 web-based service supports (1) pre-session preparation including the circulation of logistics information, agendas, and meeting documents (2) in-session circulation of presentations delivered during the meeting, as well as revised/amended documents (3) post-session circulation of the meeting report/recommendations. Please note that the system is web-based; the only requirement is a laptop that has a wireless capability to connect to the wi-fi network at the conference venue and a browser (e.g., Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer) to access the system. No additional software is required.
