The meetings are organised by the UNEP OzonAction Compliance Assistance Programme in cooperation with Anglophone and Francophone African Network countries. It is part of the Regional Network service that OzonAction's Compliance Assistance Programme (CAP) provides to Article 5 (developing) countries as part of its role as an Implementing Agency of the Multilateral Fund for the Implementation of the Montreal Protocol.
Joint Network Meeting of African Ozone Officers: The Network meetings will facilitate sharing of experiences and review progress made in the Africa region in the implementation of the Montreal Protocol and build on the recommendations of the Joint Network meeting that was held in Gaborone, Botswana in 2018.
Kigali HFC Implementation Plan (KIP) preparation meeting: The main objective of the planning meeting for African’s KIP preparation is to serve as an orientation and a capacity-building meeting for national experts and NOUs, and the topics of data collection, KIP design, and utilization of OzonAction tools and products will be thoroughly discussed. This will facilitate and streamline the preparation of KIPs in the region and increase the quality of project proposals.
