This meeting is part of the activities of UNEP OzonAction's Regional Montreal Protocol Network for Europe and Central Asia (ECA network). During the first part of the meeting, UNDP and Guidehouse will present their recently approved project on cooling efficiency in the context of the Kigali Amendment. During the second part of the meeting, the ECA network and associated CEIT countries will have the opportunity to share information on their recent activities related to HCFC phase-out, HFC phase-down, HFC preparatory projects, and World Ozone Day activities. Besides the invited experts, participants include Article 5 and associated CEIT countries, bilateral partners, and partner agencies. This meeting is in English.

3) Cool Up: Our holistic approach to the sustainable cooling transition – Mr. Maksim Surkov and
Mr. Selimcan Azizoglu of UNDP, Ms. Nesen Surmeli-Anac and Mr. Markus Offermann of Guidehouse
Introduction to the new “Cool Up” programme of the International Climate Initiative and how it addresses climate change, diverse energy challenges, and increased demand for cooling in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Turkey. By promoting accelerated technological change, cooling demand reduction, and early implementation of the Kigali Amendment and Paris Agreement, “Cool Up” aims to achieve catalytic change within the refrigeration, air conditioning, and cooling sectors. The presentation will provide an overview of the holistic approach across the cooling value chain and aspects related to policy, financing, technologies, capacity building, and stakeholder engagement.
4) Roundtable discussion of ECA network and associated CEIT countries on their recent activities
ECA network and associated CEIT countries will be invited to share information on their recent activities related to HCFC phase-out, HFC phase-down, HFC preparatory projects, and World Ozone Day activities. This is also an opportunity to suggest future network activities, regional initiatives or to express needs for assistance or topics for forthcoming ECA meetings.
